Neil Simon is a master of humorous dialogue. “The Odd Couple” and “The Sunshine Boys” are just two examples of his brilliant writing of comedy situations. “Brighton Beach Memoirs” is another. Largely autobiographical, it is a play in which we see and share the problems of a young boy learning about life and girls, and work and girls, and his family … and girls. This is a finely observed and beautifully recorded story of life in a Jewish American family at the start of World Ward I.
